Organization content policy

Community organizations publish unlimited articles and videos on Tri-Cities Board for free. Here is what we ask in return, and exactly how moderation works.

Free & unlimited

Post as much as your community needs

Community organizations publish unlimited Org Highlights on Tri-Cities Board at no cost — no article quotas, no video limits, no tiers. Instead of metering you, we moderate. This policy is the whole agreement: what Org Highlights are for, what crosses the line, and exactly what happens if it does.

What Org Highlights are for

An Org Highlight is a post about the work your organization does in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody. If a neighbour would find it useful, it belongs here:

  • Programs, registration windows, and season announcements
  • Events, tournaments, fundraisers, and open houses
  • Game results, milestones, and season recaps
  • Volunteer calls and board recruitment
  • Fundraising campaigns and donation drives
  • Community impact stories and thank-yous to supporters

The rules

Post original content about your own organization

Write in your own words about your programs, people, and events. Sharing a partner's event you are part of is fine — republishing someone else's article as your own is not.

Post an announcement once, then update it

Reposting the same message week after week pushes other organizations down the feed. Edit or refresh the original post instead, or write a genuine update with new information.

Keep it community content, not sales content

Merchandise pushes, sponsor promotions, and product offers belong in advertising, not in Org Highlights. Charging for your own programs is fine — a post that exists only to sell is not.

No misleading claims

Be accurate about charitable status, where donations go, affiliations, and who is running a program. If you are collecting money, say clearly what it funds.

Respect photo consent — especially for minors

Only post photos you have the right to use. For anyone under 19, make sure you have parent or guardian consent on file, and never publish a child's full name alongside identifying details without it.

How enforcement works

We do not remove listings without warning, and we do not hand out strikes for honest mistakes. When content breaks a rule above, it earns a content strike and you always hear why.

1

We flag the content

A moderator removes or unpublishes the post and emails you what happened and why. Nothing else about your listing changes.

2

Second strike is a warning

You get a written warning with the specific pattern we need you to stop. Your listing and everything already published stay live.

3

Publishing pauses at 3 strikes

Your listing stays public and your existing content stays up, but new Org Highlights are paused until we talk it through with you.

Strikes can be reviewed and lifted. Reply to the moderation email or write to admin@tricitiesboard.org and a person will look at it again. If we got it wrong, the strike comes off your record and publishing resumes right away.

Want to promote something?

Advertising is a separate, optional product — and every community organization gets a flat 10% discount on it, forever. Your listing and your Org Highlights stay free whether you ever buy an ad or not.
