Copyright & attribution policy
News Feed
This policy covers the News Feed on Tri-Cities Board. The News Feed is a news aggregator that helps local readers discover stories and visit the original publishers.
We display headlines and limited previews with source links. Please follow those links for the full story, context, updates, and the publisher’s own presentation. We aim to identify the source and, when provided, the named author or creator.
Copyright in original reporting, photographs, and other publisher material remains with its authors, publishers, or other rights holders. Tri-Cities Board does not claim ownership of or credit for that work. Inclusion in the News Feed does not imply endorsement by the publisher or by Tri-Cities Board.
Permissions and fair dealing
We aim to operate the News Feed in accordance with applicable permissions and Canadian copyright law, including fair dealing where it applies. Fair dealing is assessed case by case; attribution alone is not permission.
Canadian law uses the term “fair dealing” rather than the U.S. term “fair use”. For news reporting, section 29.2 of the Copyright Act requires mention of the source and, if given in the source, the relevant named author or creator.
Copyright complaints and attribution corrections
If you believe the News Feed uses your work without an appropriate basis, or a source or credit needs correction, email support@tricitiesboard.org so we can review the concern.
Please include the Tri-Cities Board item link, the original source link, the work concerned, an explanation of the issue, and the rights holder’s name and contact details (or your authority to act for them). These details help us identify the material and assess an appropriate response.
