Rules for the TriCities Board community forum

Welcome to Our Community

The TriCities Board forum is a positive, welcoming space for the people of Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Coquitlam. We built this forum to help you discover all the beautiful things the Tri-Cities has to offer — from hidden local gems and family-friendly activities to neighbourhood recommendations and community support.

Our goal is simple: help people integrate better with their neighbours and community. Every interaction here should reflect that. We keep these rules straightforward because our community deserves a space that feels safe, helpful, and genuinely enjoyable.

What We Encourage

Lead with Kindness

Treat every person in this forum the way you'd treat a neighbour at your front door. Assume good intentions, be patient, and lift people up.

Build Community

This forum exists to help people discover the beauty of our Tri-Cities, connect with neighbours, and make our community stronger. Every post should contribute to that mission.

Stay Positive & Constructive

Share recommendations, helpful tips, and genuine experiences. If you have feedback, frame it constructively. Focus on solutions, not complaints.

Support Local

Celebrate the businesses, people, and places that make Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Coquitlam special. Recommendations are always welcome.

What Is Not Allowed

No political debates, partisan commentary, or election-related discussions. There are plenty of places online for that — this isn't one of them.

Negativity & Complaining

Rants, venting, and negativity bring everyone down. If something is bothering you, frame it constructively or reach out to the appropriate local authority.

Name Calling & Personal Attacks

No name calling, insults, or personal attacks — ever. Disagree respectfully or move on. This applies to other forum members and public figures alike.

Bashing Neighbours or Local Businesses

Do not publicly shame, call out, or bash neighbours, local businesses, or community members. If you have a dispute, handle it privately or through the proper channels.

Hate Speech & Discrimination

Zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, or any form of discrimination. Everyone is welcome here.

Spam & Self-Promotion

No unsolicited advertising, repetitive links, or promotional spam. If you want to promote your business, use our business listing feature instead.

Misinformation

Don't spread unverified rumours or false information. If you're sharing something you heard, make that clear. Accuracy matters.

Enforcement

We want everyone to have a great experience here, and we take these guidelines seriously. Our moderation approach is straightforward:

    First Offence — Content Removal

    Your post or reply will be removed and you'll receive a notification explaining why.

    Repeated Violations — Temporary Suspension

    Continued violations will result in a temporary suspension from the forum.

    Severe or Ongoing — Permanent Ban

    Hate speech, harassment, or persistent rule-breaking will result in permanent removal from the community.
