Six steps take a perk from a partner’s counter to a confirmed offer. Members discover perks on the web and redeem with a tap in the TCB app; businesses post perks and set up their stand.
The partner’s counter stand
Each Perks partner keeps a TCB counter stand by the till. Its printed QR opens that business’s perks; scanning it shows offers but redeems nothing by itself.
The business links its NFC tags
The business taps each new stand or employee card once and assigns it to its account. The one-time link expires about 10 minutes after the tap.
Pick a perk, then tap, in the TCB app
In the TCB app for iPhone or Android, the member selects one perk and taps the stand or employee card within five minutes. Redemption never happens on the website.
Staff see a live confirmation
The app shows a live green screen with a moving clock and a short chime. Staff can also check that a membership is active; that check is read-only and records nothing.
Choose free or Supporter
Free accounts include 4 standard redemptions each calendar month. Community Supporter is C$4.99 and Plus C$9.99 per person a month. Supporter includes unlimited standard Perks, and Plus adds exclusive offers.
Monthly community giveaways
Signed-in residents get 1 chance in open giveaways and Community Supporters get 5. The draw is computer-random and each person can win once per giveaway.
Perks FAQ
Can I redeem a perk on the website?
No. The website is for discovering perks and for businesses to post them. Redemption is a tap in the TCB app for iPhone or Android.
Who can post a perk?
Business, Organization and Creative accounts can all post perks. General member accounts redeem them.
What does it cost a business?
A counter stand is C$150, or free when Tri-Cities Board sends your business a promotion link. Merchant participation remains free. Replacements are C$50 per counter stand and C$15 per employee card.
What if the tap doesn’t confirm?
Select the perk again in the app and tap within five minutes. Nothing is applied until the green confirmation shows.
Does the membership check record a redemption?
No. It only confirms that a membership is active and whose it is.
